theory816
What makes ONR a better rinseless wash solution than Meguire's D114?
Guest Driven Auto Detail
I don't work for OPT, but having tried Meg's D114 on a few vehicles recently, I still reach for ONR by default. Nothing against D114, but ONR just flat out works and it seems to dry easier than D114.
Ron@Optimum
Thanks, Mike, I didn't want to answer because (1) I do work for Optimum and (2) I've never used D114. Optimum does not test competitive products due to the incredible (and growing) number of them and our corporate philosophy to make the best products we can, not targeting anyone. And by best we include - quality, ease of use, durability, efficiency (cost per use), and environmentally responsible.
theory816
Thanks for the reply. So I guess it comes down to choice and preference? My 32oz of ONR is almost out btw lol
Guest
2 very differnet technologies, ONR contains substantiive zwitterionic polymers to do the job, where as Meguiar's product is soap based. Both work, but ONR is safer in terms of lubrication.
Guest Driven Auto Detail
That explains the suds with D114. Good to know.
Billy Jack
I stock and use both. D114 in higher concentrations can be used as a wax stripper. If I'm doing a rinseless before any correction and/or polishing, I use D114, as I feel it's a more aggressive cleaner. For maintenance it's always ONR or DG, as they both help preserve and enhance my existing wax. Bill
theory816
From what I've gathered on other forums is that D114 is the better cleaning no rinse solution in both lubrication and cleaning ability. However my concern is how safe is the products for humans and the environment. Another reason why I don't use other products is because they seem to have no regards for environmental safety. Though it may get the job done better but at what price. This is another reason why I love Optimum, their philosophy is not just about cleaning cars and I hope it stays that way. Ron@Optimum
You can be assured environmental safety will always be a core value of Optimum.
