KenCol93
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has had issues with hyper polish sling and dried residue staining the paint? I had a customer come in asking if I could remove a scratch from his truck. I inspected it and told him it was too deep to fix but I could lighten it up so it wasn't as noticeable and he agreed. I washed and clayed with ONR and proceeded to polish making 4 passes with a finishing pad and 2 sprays of hyper polish. I cleaned the area with a dampened ONR towel and reinspected the door. The customer was satisfied and left. A week later he returns with dried compound spots all over the fender and hood asking if it was my product. I don't recall any sling during the polishing process certainly not enough to land on the opposite side of the hood. Nevertheless I agreed to try and fix the issue and will be doing so this upcoming week. So my question is have any of you had this issue with hyper polish and if so what's the best way to remove two week old compound spots? dlc95
No. Infact I have used Hyper Polish to fix that sort of issue left by previous attempts!
Opti Don
Hyper Polish doesn't stain trim. It can actually be used to clean plastic trim. The dried compound spots on the trim are probably from another product used by the vehicle owner or another detailer. To clean trim with Hyper Polish I recommend a finishing pad like the Optimum Black Waffle Pad at low speeds on a DA. It should clean old compound from the black trim. Power Clean is another good product for cleaning compound and polish stains from black trim.
