Kiddetailer
There are cars with Matte black door pillar trims and plastic fender flares. I am curious which product is actually proven to work to protect these areas? Optimum Car wax, Hyper seal , etc. will they work? Or do I need to use something like 303 Aerospace? There are trim protection specific products like Opti-Trim , but I'm asking about more of a product in regards to regular continual protection for cars that don't want a coating. Jayk82
I've been using a lot of Hyper Seal as of late on areas you describe. I believe I've seen Ron mention Leather Protectant may actually protect these areas from UV damage better than even Hyper Seal. dlc95
I just use whatever protectant the customer got on the paint. My default is Car Wax. Of, if I'm using a cleaner wax, like Hyper AIO, I'll most likely use Car Wax on those parts. Kiddetailer
Ron@Optimum
On shiny trim (piano finish) Protectant Plus goes on almost like a lotion and needs to be buffed off, while Hyper Seal is clear. I think Hyper Seal is more durable and they provide equal UV protection. Personally I use Protectant Plus on matte plastic (mud flaps/bumper trim) and Hyper Seal on the shiny surfaces (window frames), but there's nothing scientific about my choices.
