jsykes
I have a white Jeep Grand Cherokee that is one year old with Opti-coat 2 applied when new. I need a dent rpaired where a tree trimmer dropped a branch on the vehicle. My question is what needs to be done to remove the Opti-Coat so the paint repair and clear coat will adhere? What do I tell the body shop to do to prepare the area for the paint and clear coat? Thanks Jeff
fjd726
How long do you have to wait after the paint cures to reapply opticoat 2?
katherine2
It would really depend on the type of paint you used and weather condition. I'd say 20 days would be a good curing time (if all condition is good).
Chris Bauman
I had mine painted at the body shop and the shop said it should be the same as applying wax. The paint cures over time (in this case 5 days) before you can wax (which is a sealer to some extent). You should be good to go based on the number of days the body shop says for waxing. Don't forget to properly prepare the paint before you apply OC 2.
