Balcells
Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum so please be easy on me ;-) I applied Opti-Coat 2.0 on my new black 2013 Honda Accord about a year ago. Needless to say, I've been thrilled with the results. Unfortunately, I was involved in a minor traffic accident when someone hit my rear right panel and bumper. I'm now in the process of looking for an auto body shop. Once my car is repaired and the damaged area is repainted, I'd like to get Opti-Coat reapplied. What process should I take to do so? Do I need to remove the full previous application and reapply to the whole car or is it possible to just reapply to the newly painted area? Also, does the auto body shop need to follow any specific process while repainting since Opti-Coat is now on my paint? Thanks in advance for any info. Guest
Opti coat will not interfear with teh body shops work in any way. They will need to compound it off if they are planning on blending teh new paint to the old. Once the paint has cured 30days lightly polish with Hyper polish and re-apply Opti-Coat to teh areas that have new paint, no need to re do the whole car. Balcells
Thanks for the response! If I do decide to get the whole car redone, do I use Hyper polish to remove the previous application?
Paul S
Yes Hyper Polish will work. Are you aware that the insurance company is responsible to pay for the replacement cost of the coating on the damaged panel ?
