Billy Jack
I've done some searching and haven't found an answer, so here comes the question; Is OC compatible with single-stage lacquer? The vehicle in question is my garage queen '87 El Camino. I can see that some of the paint is not original, but nothing has been painted after 1993 when I took ownership. The horizontal panels, namely hood and roof, experience a gradual fade in gloss during winter storage. Every spring it's the same routine; Clay, force feed multiple applications of oil-rich Meguiar's #7, then follow with a light machine polish, sealant and LSP. The results of my work is shown in the picture below. I have some OC and I'm hoping that after a good surface cleaning and light polishing, Opti-Coat might preserve my fragile finish better and longer than conventional waxes and sealants. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help Bill
Billy Jack
Thanks, Chris. I have my OC, but I'm going to wait a bit until the cruise / show season winds down after Labor Day. I'll do some pics and a review for the benefit of others contemplating the process. Bill

Alfisti
Hmmmm...I just did a white single-stage car on the weekend. Corrected the paint then OC. How does it fail when it doesn't work properly? How can you tell?
