Tom Guild
Just had the hood and one fender of my 2012 Ram repainted with Spies Hecker waterborne base coat and solvent clear coat. Body shop owner said not to use sealants, waxes or polish for 90 days. (I already knew this from many past repaint experiences) Now about washing ... "Hand wash your vehicle with warm water and a mild auto wash detergent in a shaded area...." Is it OK to use ONR on this fresh paint?
Perfections Detail
Tom, great question. I've had no issues with DuPont, basf, so I'm guessing yours would be good to go as well.
D & D Auto Detail
No polish for 90 days? Fresh paint is sanded, then polished. A lot of shops will wax freshly painted panels as well.
Tom Guild
I think the "no polish" was meant for the folks that think polish and wax are the same thing. When I picked up the truck it had been wet sanded and polished. The comments from the owner were on the shop's website. Not made directly to me.
