Paul S
Has anyone tried the new 3M Defender clear spray on temp film ? Looks like a alternative clear ppf for temporary protection such as road trips etc. http://3mauto.com/products/paint-defender
Distinctiv Detailing
I picked up a can fairly recently, but havn't got a chance to use it yet. I use Wolf's "The Mask" for temporary protection for road trips. Doesn't work too well for rocks, but it makes bug n guts cleaning a breeze p.s. nice comp name
beetlevw72
It's actually a lot more than a temporary coating. It lasts up to two years according to 3M. I still prefer my Xpel Ultimate PPF. It's amazing and none of the orange peel affect like the Paint Defender will have.
Paul S
PPF and 3M defender are worlds apart on price .As I mentioned in the first post I was considering offering the service as a temporary cover for track days and short road trips in bad conditions. I already have a PPF installer and window tinter I farm out work to.From seeing some of the detailers post their 3M Defender installs on Detailer Buddies , I have seen the results can very with the installers skill level. Getting ready to do a high mileage BMW for a customer and will report back how it turns out.
