jasbir204
Hey all, Just had a question about water spots and fading appearing on my opti-coat pro. I've had the vehicle coated for about 3 years now and the coating has performed great. However I just noticed a few water spots that appeared (Tons of rain lately and finally got around to doing a proper wash) and some fading on the hood. The spots and fading did not disappear and I'm taking it to my authorized detailer to look at but what I was wondering if the water spots will etch into the paint, or will opti-coat take the damage into it's "sacrificial layer". I totally understand that my rep may need to strip and re-coat which I'm totally okay with, just wanted to ensure that the spots won't etch into the paint. Ron@Optimum
One of Opti-Coat Pro's greatest strengths is chemical resistance to etching (is included in the Warranty), and that includes water spots. Your installer should be able to remove with no issue.
