Rickshaw
Thanks for the opportunity to join and learn from the best. Entry level experience with clays and general wax applications. First time to prep and apply a ceramic using Gloss Coat. Very good results except for a few spots where Opti-Coat prep dried and was not removed. Interested to go back and remove those spots and re-coat. Is that do able?
Ron@Optimum
are you talking about Paint Prep causing streaking - that shouldn't happen, Gloss-Coat and Paint Prep work well together. You can polish Gloss-Coat and reapply if necessary.
Rickshaw
Thanks. The Paint Prep dried and most of is buffed off by hand with a microfiber. I used Chemical Guys prep spray to get 95% off, but missed a few spots.
Rickshaw
So my brother in law recommended I use some of the Primer on a microfiber and polish it off. Worked!
Ron@Optimum
I don't know what Chemical Guys Prep is but there's a reason to stay within brand families - products don't always play well together.
Rickshaw
Understand and agree Ron. I just happened to have it on hand and it worked for the application. Learned a lot this first time and will have even better results on my next job.
Ron@Optimum
Primer Polish is what Optimum provides with Opti-Coat Pro to professional installers to prep paint prior to ceramic application - it works great with coatings and in general is a terrific polish for everyday use (is basically Hyper Polish).
