Physics108
Hi, I'm having the OptiCoat Pro+ coating reapplied on my car and was wondering if it would be feasible and beneficial to have an additional layer of the silicon carbide applied before the base layer is fully cured, like within 30 min. This would then be topped with the silicon dioxide layer for a total of three layers. My questions are two: 1) Would the additional silicon carbide layer adhere sufficiently well to the base layer so as not to have problems? 2) Would scratch resistance of the clear coat and durability of the finish be enhanced with such an application? Thanks for your advice and help.
Ron@Optimum
3 coatings would be overkill and while Opti-Coat Pro can be layered, you will not be adding durability or scratch resistance, only ensuring good coverage.
