Blinky
Dear Gurus, I have 2 high spots resulting from a little too much OptiGuard. I'm sure this has been asked before, but I just want to be sure about the proper remedy. Essentially these spots are more accurately described as streaks. Can I simply polish them with a small finishing pad, e.g. a 3 inch Lake Country crimson + Optimum Finish polish? What speed do I need to use on a Meguiar's G110 polisher? I applied the coating last week and am just overjoyed about the way my humble car now looks. Thanks in Advance
toddj
I'd start with either Poli Seal or GPS.and go light and easy. If that doesn't smooth them out, go a little higher speed, then move up the scale of more aggressive polishes.
Perfections Detail
Do it by hand with opt finish, or poly seal, lightly go at it until it disappears, you shouldn't need to reapply if done correctly.
beetlevw72
I've removed really high spots very easily with OPT Finish and Poli-Seal. Poli-Seal worked a bit quicker. I even purposely made a high spot on my one window to see which worked better. The Poli-Seal on a black Meguiars finishing pad, by hand, with pretty much no pressure worked quickest. fjd726
No need to re-apply to those areas after buffing?
Paul S
No need to re-apply to those areas after buffing? Not if lightly buffed to just remove the high spots. It's as easy as it sounds.
