dale.m
Can paint prep be diluted with water? I only have a number of ounces left in a spray bottle and trying to make it last for an entire vehicle.
Ron@Optimum
You can dilute Paint Prep, just understand you are reducing it's effectiveness.
The Guz
Worst case is you can use IPA.

Ron, if I'm claying and then hyper polishing the car, then following up with a damp towel of ONR to remove the polish residue, is paint prep still necessary? dale.m
These steps are done for a gloss coat application. I forgot to mention that in the original post.
The Guz
The direction on gloss coat also mention around 15% IPA. So if you run out of paint prep you can use that. Or hold off and get more paint prep.
Ron@Optimum
A Paint Prep or IPA wipe down is extra insurance that you've removed all residue. If you use Hyper Polish, a micro fiber dampened in even diluted Paint Prep should be sufficient for a strong coating bond.
