dale.m
Like the title states, is it worth it? I’m doing some maintenance and will remove the wheels but wondering if it will benefit, and if I don’t clean the barrels often like i do with the wheel face, if the brake dust and road grime just deteriorate the coating faster. Thoughts?
The Guz
It is worth it. The wheels will be easier to clean and stay cleaner longer. Like everything else maintenance is key.
theTHiiiNG
You are taking the wheels off, so why not? You won't get better protection unless you go Pro. Durability may be slightly reduced on wheels (?) but still better then any other options. If you do decide to please let us know how it goes and what you think. Ron@Optimum
Opti-Coat Pro installers frequently offer to coat drums, calipers, etc as an up charge.
Detail Mutant
For me, it would depend on the wheel design. For a 5-7 spoke design where there is decent spacing that barrels are potentially visible and accessible for cleaning then yes. But in the case of 10 spoke design (such as the chrome rims on the KIA Sorrento I just did) I wouldn't bother.
