Jeeves
I have an unopened 10ml syringe of Gloss Coat that has been sitting in an air conditioned/heated closet for 3-4 years. Is it safe to use or should I throw it away and use a new syringe? Will be polishing/sealing an SUV and a sedan when it cools down a little here in Memphis and want to order any needed products soon. Setec Astronomy
If it still looks white (not yellowed), and it's still a thin liquid, it should be fine. You know it's off if it's yellowy and the bubbles don't move around. We were always told air was the enemy of the Optimum coatings, so if you used a partial syringe, you needed to purge the air out to leave the minimum possible before sealing it back up. Ron@Optimum
yellowing is not a problem (can be caused by plasticizers in syringe), but if it turns to gel, it's unusable.

I know that's what's always said, but I've never had any turn yellow that wasn't gelled, maybe a coincidence.
Ron@Optimum
I've seen it and know it's true...but haven't heard of any yellowing syringes for years, so hope that issue resolved.
Jeeves
Thanks for the help guys. It's a brand new syringe and looks to be as liquid as the day it arrived so I'll give it a shot.
