Setec Astronomy
Are these both new products? I don't remember seeing any "ultra" clay products before. How does this differ from the regular Opti-Clay towel?
The Guz
I hope they are better than the previous towel. The previous towel was terrible. Was one of the worst clay alternatives I have used. It just sits in the package after not even one use and will probably end up in the trash. I have seen the new ones and they do look nice. I won't think I will be picking these up as I found one that I am satisfied with.
Ron@Optimum
Optimum found a new supplier and the composition is new/improved. I have an original clay towel that is 3 years old and has not deteriorated at all, but admittedly, I don't use it frequently. The Clay Mitt is a new entry. Ron@Optimum
Not disagreeing with you Guz and we had bad experiences with the clay towel, just not all clay towels. Optimum discontinued until we found a better design.
Setec Astronomy
They certainly are pricey. Ron, do they have one usable side, or two? Since you didn't link them: http://opti-coat.net/opts/Optimum-Ultra-Clay-Towel http://opti-coat.net/opts/index.php?route=product/product&path=82&product_id=
Ron@Optimum
Both Ultra Clay products are one sided - the towel is much improved over the previous entry.
gpn005
@Ron@Optimum are these clay towels no longer sold? I don't see them anywhere on your site but have seen a lot of videos on the clean, clay, wax technique which is intriguing.
Ron@Optimum
due to trademark issues, OPT does not advertise the Clay Towel, but if you call Shay at 901-363-4955, you may be able to order one.

Is there any difference between the Optimum Ultra Clay Towel and the Rag Company's Ultra Clay Decontamination Towel? I ask because when their respective images are enlarged, their surfaces look identical. And there is a significant price difference. Also, in a video by Pan he uses Ferex as the lubricant for the Ultra Clay Towel. Is that okay?
Ron@Optimum
it's very possible they are the same, Optimum sources their Clay Towel from a 3rd party (I have no idea who TRC towel is from). You can use FerreX as a clay lube and it does double duty, lubricating the clay and dissolving ferrous metals in the paint. Works very well! berchman
kapi88
Is it reusable? So you can save money by not having to buy a new clay bar every time you detail your car.

Ron@Optimum
wipe the clay towel down in Power Clean after use and it's definitely reusable.
