This is how you interact with customers and concerns? With ridicule and a butt emoji? Highly unprofessional and speaks volumes of the company as a whole...

I have a 2016 Black Maxima. I use Eagle Edgeless microfiber towels, yellow optimum no rinse, hyper seal, at times MDR, 2 bucket method with grit guard, Chem guys microfiber mit, wash in straight lines

Nice car you have there. Unfortunately it has soft paint in black which, as you now realize shows imperfections like a magnifying glass especially if its a daily driver. Cleaning black paint in general is a nightmare.

Opti coat does not offer scratch resistance and there is always a possibility that a speck of dirt is still present at washing, or in the towels or wherever that will marr paint.

If there is another problem with the coating I suggest you contact your opti coat installer. I presume you have some sort of a guarantee?

I am not the VP, CEO, or President of Optimum, but can tell you what they would say - contact your pro installer, they are your first and best source of info for YOUR car.  A&J, though slightly irreverent (like me), is extremely knowledgeable AND helpful, if given a chance.  If you want to talk to the Tech Specialist, call 901-363-4955 and ask for Ron...

I quote .... “On website”

Opti-Coat Pro is a hard wearing, ceramic clear coat for superior resistance to scratching (9H) and protection from chemical etching due to environmental impact.

Highly false advertising. Wheres the disclaimer claiming it won’t offer any resistance at all on Nissans and or black paint. The actual marring with Opti-Pro on looks even worse than it did without it

I am in the coatings industry, and I can tell you for a FACT that is not 9H and doubtful it’s even in the H category. I have the kit at work and can upload it if needed.

Have you discussed any of this with your installer?  I can assure you Opti-Coat Pro is 9H and Optimum's statements are factual and backed by years of real life experience.  You have not stated what your issues are, nor tried to contact us.

No matter the coating used, they are not scratch proof or swirl proof.  This is still one of the biggest misconceptions of coatings.  I would not buy into the marketing of hardness.  The benefit of a coating is that they help with wash induced marring.  Soft paint is a pain to keep marr free regardless if it is coated or not.  Experienced this on my uncles black corvette (repainted and has soft finicky paint)  that at one time had Gloss Coat and now wears another coating.  Guess what it still marred with the other coating that claimed to be harder than Gloss Coat.

The more the paint is touched, the risk is higher to marr the paint.  I can understand your frustration but as mentioned talk to your installed and see what can be done.

I’ve talked to the installer and they said that’s just how it is and nothing else can be done. Originally I was under the impression that I could pay to have it polished every 6 months in order to get rid of the marring, etc. Now I’m being told that is not possible because it will mess up the paint.

Ron I can assure you that this coating is not 9H on my car or anywhere remotely close.  I have a hardness test kit right in front of me and I am in the coatings industry. Would be willing to do a field test video with Optimum and upload it to prove it’s nowhere near that hard of a coating

I tried calling you yesterday but you for some reason close at 4pm? I have also contacted Dan the Regional Manager and am waiting a response. I still have yet to get ahold of the President as well
