Redgrandam
Is ONRWW at a 1:16 dilution a good option for a quick door jamb wipe out for regular washes? I know regular ONR is good for that, but looking to leave a little protection and repellency for water and dirt.
Setec Astronomy
I don't see any reason why ONRWW wouldn't be fine if you already use that dilution for that purpose with regular ONR. When you say "regular washes" are you referring to conventional wash? Because if I'm doing a rinseless wash I just wash the jambs after the rest of the car with the same rinseless method. Yeah, thanks. I mean just maintenance washes. Not a deep cleaning of the door jambs. I have rust proofing on one of my cars so the door jambs can be pretty oily and messy so I have to use different wash media than the rest of my RW. I could probably just dip a towel in the solution too I suppose. But I will usually use regular ONR for the wash and a separate drying aid though. I was using a waterless wash and wax type product but don’t like the specific one I’m using.
Setec Astronomy
I was trying to distinguish between a rinseless wash like ONR or ONRWW, and a conventional ("soap") wash, like Optimum Car Wash. You can also use your normal method (ONR/drying aid) on the jambs, even if you have to use different wash media and drying towels. I have separate towels I use for jambs and under the hood. No Soap
Try Optimum T.A.R. for rust proofing oil? Works for my just rust proofed Peugeot e-208 GT (yellow & black 😍), but if I'm fast only Opti-Clean is enough but I was lucky with the weather, the "oil" seemed to dry up fast when the sun was shining. I did get some wet and dry small towels to deal with the rust proofing stuff. Paint prep could also work? I always also use a towel that I can throw with either Opti-Clean or ONR and add some sealant as protection becaus it is then easier to clean. Ron@Optimum
Paint Prep is a solid all purpose decontaminator but not sure how effective on grease. Interesting car, not something you see around here. Like Setec, I use my normal cleaning solution (ONR, sometimes ONRWW, or Opti-Clean) on door jams/liftgate, with an old microfiber.
