SpoonyLove
Hello everyone! recently discovered Optimum's products and have been loving the results from ONR followed by Optiseal and finished off with the instant detailer & gloss enhancer. It has really changed the way I detail my car. I am having such a good experience that i'm thinking of getting my new car coated with Pro 3, but not totally sold on it yet and need to do some more research. KIS76@
Gloss Coat is another good option. Very easy to use.
SpoonyLove
I noticed there is no forum dedicated to the PPF that optimum makes. Is there somewhere to get more information on that?
Setec Astronomy
I don't think they are doing the PPF anymore, are they?
Ron@Optimum
Optimum does have PPF and one installer in Louisiana (besides international distributors).
Setec Astronomy
Ron, is it on the Opticoat.com website? Because I looked before I posted and didn't see it so I presumed that was a Yvan/Dann thing that went away like the bed coating, etc. Oh wait, now I see it's a bullet point on the plan view of the Lambo or whatever that is, but it doesn't seem to appear in the menu anywhere. Ron@Optimum
You are very close on PPF, it was an Yvan initiative that never took off after his retirement. As far as I know there's 1 installer in Louisiana and all information comes from Dr G. Optimum had a PPF specialist in Memphis, he went to work for an Opti-Coat Pro installer there, but still applies film.
SpoonyLove
Ah, i see. thank you for all this info. It explains why i can't find much on it anywhere. Do you titans of industry have any recommendations on a specific brand of PPF to go with the Pro 3 coating? I have already spoken with a Pro 3 dealer near me about PPF options, but i'm curious what you all think.
Ron@Optimum
I have no personal experience with PPF, but suggest you stick with a brand name (3M, Xpel, etc) and look at reviews. I had contact with Xpel early on as they tested and recommended Optimum ceramic coatings for their film, then they developed their own coating and dissed ours (I still have the email from their technician complimenting Opti-Coat Pro). We partnered with PPF installers early on as a natural combination with coatings.
Mr.Outback
Wrt PPF, my local OptiCoat installer put Pro+ on my vehicle's clear coat and PPF (possibly 3M but not identified by installing car dealer). Pro+ seems to be working well on both at 11 months.
SpoonyLove
Interesting. I found an optimum dealer down in CT that says they use Opti-Coat PPF manufactured by STEK. He is an authorized dealer when i look him up on Opticoat.com. He's about a 4-5 hour drive from me but seems to be the closest shop that is authorized to do Pro3 and Optimum's PPF.
