Setec Astronomy
I see at the Opti-Coat.net site there are two new Pro products, Opti-Trim Restore, and Opti-Trim Protect. http://opti-coat.net/content/62/opti-trim_restore_and_protect.html I'm interested to hear more about these products and whether there are plans for a consumer version. Oldfordisbetter
I would love to see a consumer version of these products. A lot of cars these days have that cheap textured plastic. I read somewhere about using opti lens on plastic as a restorer/ protector. Any comment on that?
Setec Astronomy
I read somewhere about using opti lens on plastic as a restorer/ protector. Any comment on that? I found Opti-Lens to have zero restorative effect on trim. I imagine it would be good at protecting new trim.
Ron@Optimum
Trim Restore and Trim Protect are currently pro only products.
Ron@Optimum
Optimum Coatings (Gloss-Coat or OCP) are excellent trim protectors but will not restore faded surfaces.
Oldfordisbetter
Still doesnt do me much good if I cant get the products.... Optimum could prolly make a lot of money if they release a consumer version trim restorer that lasts for several years. Like I said earlier, they practically cover vehicles with that cheap plastic that fades in no time...

I'm sure the reason they don't want a consumer version is because the application is trickier than it appears. As I learned the hard way, with some of the other trim restorer coatings that are available, you apply it and it looks great, but it's easy to apply too thick and you essentially have one giant high spot that isn't apparent for weeks or months. Apparently the wipedown is critical even if it looks like you don't need it.
Oldfordisbetter
Agree Chris, I like solution finish. Do you think it would work to apply SF, then top it with Gloss Coat to lock it in? SF by itself doesnt last as long as I would like. I believe they are working on a topper for it.
MikeB
I have used Solution Finsih and it is a good product but believe it or not a detailer turned me on to the Wipe New Trim Restorer. YEP as seen on tv stuff. Works way better and way cheaper, unreal. I never would have thought.
